Changelog

[0.7.0] - 2025-12-28

Tabba is now out of closed beta and into open beta. This is the first release on our public Google Web Store.

Bugs fixed

  • Timezones
    • When customizing a timezone name, if entering a text string too long, it would destroy the timezone grid. If too long, custom timezone names now truncate and display a tooltip on hover, so as to not break the timezone grid/page layout.
  • Bookmarks
    • Fixing a small display error when adding new bookmarks (some bookmark cards were differently sized than others).
    • Fixing a bug where the emoji input auto-closes when adding/editing an emoji to a bookmark.
  • Notes
    • Fixed a bug where note input was displaying formatting from pasted text.

Updated

  • Notes
    • When searching for a note, the typed query is now highlighted in the results.

Added

  • Popup
    • Added the ability to write/edit a note directly from the popup. There are now tabs in the Popup, which will remember your last tool opened (either To do or Note).
  • Calendar
    • Added an optional "Hour Column" that can be turned on/off when viewing the calendar. You can also set the left/right side as you'd prefer. This feature can be accessed via SettingsCalendarHour column. It's Off by default.
    • Added a filtering functionality. For now, you can filter your calendar by text string or emoji. Planning to expand on this in the future.

Known Issues

  • Unable to add hyperlinked text (CMD+K) when creating a To do item, but you may do so when editing a to do item.
  • Unfinished features exist in the codebase, but hidden: RSS reader and Date calculator
  • Strange behavior when searching for tags while the tag dropdown menu is anchored from a position lower than itself.
  • To do items: Manual sorting doesnt work properly. When using this mode, dragging and dropping items doesnt
  • Ongoing: UI polish needed in various places

[0.6.1] - 2025-12-17

Our beta release in the Firefox add ons library!

Updated

  • Removed app icon from the favicon for the tab. This wasn't meant to be here in the first place, but I replaced it with a transparent png instead.

[0.6.0] - 2025-12-15

Added

  • Calendar/Notes
    • Added the ability to assign an emoji to an individual note. The assigned emoji will then appear in the calendar grid for Quarter, Month and Week views. Year view remains the same (shaded background color) as emoji become too small. Thanks to one of our beta testers for suggesting this!
    • Added a new indicator for the current time when viewing the notes flyout panel. Click the icon here to either edit your current hour's note, or create a note for the current hour (will update based on whether or not you have one). This helps people differentiate where they are when they have future notes/events added to the calendar.
  • Notes
    • Updated the input modal and flyout panel (all notes) to accommodate the new emoji addition.
  • Symbols
    • Added a new collapsible section for Frequently used

Updated

  • Calendar
    • Replaced the Seconds Counter at the top of the calendar.
    • In lieu of the Seconds Counter, added a label for the current date range.
  • To Do
    • Added a clearer hover state when completing a todo item
  • Timezones
    • New "select a city" modal design
    • Better matching for searching and adding a city to timezone planner. more cities, plus aliases for common acronyms like NYC, PDX, SFO, SYD, etc.

Known Issues

  • Unable to add hyperlinked text (CMD+K) when creating a To do item.
  • Unfinished features exist in the codebase, but hidden: RSS reader and Date calculator
  • Strange behavior when searching for tags while the tag dropdown menu is anchored from a position lower than itself.
  • Ongoing: UI polish needed in various places.
  • Note input inherits page styling from pasted sources. Not sure why it's doing that.

[0.5.0] - 2025-12-13

Updated

  • Removed ActiveTab permissions because we actually didn't need it.
  • Added support for Firefox. This is the first version (0.5.0) that has been uploaded to the Mozilla Developer Hub, pending approval by the Mozilla security team.
  • Calendar:
    • Fixed bug where empty/erased notes were showing up in the grid, even if the note had 0 characters in it.
  • Notes (side panel)
    • Fixed bug: Empty/erased notes were showing up in the grid, even if the note had 0 characters in it (similar bug as the calendar since both are linked).
    • Fixed bug: Really long strings of text (e.g. an API key) were breaking the note flyout panel.
    • Changed the date sorting language to be more clear.
  • Popup
    • Redesigned popup entirely. Added some visual feedback once successfully adding a todo item.
    • Better color/theme management so it matches your defined color scheme
  • To Do
    • Changed "Done" to "Completed", based on user feedback, this was clearer language.
  • Draw
    • Better canvas/art sizing to work on screens big and small. Still refining this.

Added

  • Timezone planner:
    • Added better differentiation between each day on the actual timeline. 11pm and 12am receive a special styling to indicate end of day/beginning of day.
  • Bookmarks:
    • New emoji selector when adding a bookmark. I've included Emojimart which will likely be used elsewhere in the app (future plans for adding emoji elsewhere)
